Patent overview
Shanghai JoHan Technology’s self-filed utility model patent for a Wearable Pet Health Monitor has been granted by the China National Intellectual Property Administration under number CN224290985U. The patent covers three original structural designs:
- Stepless threaded adjustment: replacing traditional hole-and-clip sizing so a single collar fits neck growth from puppy to large breed, avoiding clip breakage and poor fit.
- Anti-loss locking cap: a thread-lock that prevents the collar from loosening during activity, addressing the tendency of conventional snap buckles to be pulled apart.
- Integrated elastic-mesh pest-repellent module: a first-of-its-kind elastic mesh layer holding natural repellent packs that release gradually while worn, replaced roughly every 30 days.
Product capability
Beyond the structural work, the device integrates a PPG heart-rate sensor, infrared temperature sensing and a 3-axis accelerometer for round-the-clock vital monitoring, with anomaly alerts pushed to the owner’s phone. The commercial model pairs hardware with data and SaaS: a free basic tier for everyday monitoring, and a paid tier offering AI health reports, online vet consultations and multi-pet management.
Current status
The engineering prototype has been validated and the product is now moving from pilot production toward mass manufacturing. In parallel, the company is working on mass-production process optimization and supply-chain selection, and is drawing on the SJTU Technology Transfer Center network for reliability testing and clinical validation resources.
